It’s all about cakes!

Yes, that’s right!

Every baker, cake decorator, cake enthusiast, teacher and supplier joined together in one sweet event, as the first and biggest international cake show, THE CAKE FIESTA MANILA rolled out the carpet last   November 15-17 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.

The 3-day show, the first and the biggest in Asia to-date, aimed to elevate the skills and the quality of cake decorating in Asia and was organized by the Queens of Buttercream, Valeri Valeriano and Christina Ong, together with the Philippines’ Queen Mother of Cakes – Penk Ching, and participated in by  international and local suppliers.

The event boasted of top cake artists from around the globe who shared their skills and expertise to the event participants. It featured competitions called Cake Wars, showcasing a live competition of cake decorating skills and Display Cake Competition that paraded a variety of  celebration, wedding , and sculpted cake designs, including a 100% Buttercream category, as well as cake bazaars and an assortment of bakery and cake suppliers with various booth demonstrations and cake masterpieces, where Bakels Philippines took part in.

As one of the leading bakery ingredients in the country, offering a complete line-up of various cake decorating products, we showcased our wide-range and versatile cake products via our booth  displays and live on-site demonstrations.    Bakels highlighted a variety of premium cake premixes, top-notch glazes and fruit fillings, dairy and non-dairy cake finishings, ready-to-roll (RTR) fondants, gumpaste, and piping bags.

The Bakels’ booth display consisted of fondant cakes using our Bakels Gumpaste and Pettinice Ready to Roll Fondants (RTR) which are available in three colors- White, Red and Black, mini entremets and cakes with mirror-glazed finish using our Diamond Glaze variants – in Neutral, Red, Gold, Silver, Chocolate and Toffee Caramel.

One of the highlights at the Bakels booth was the on-site demonstrations by our technical bakery team. The demonstrations showcased how the Pettinice RTR Fondant and Bakels Gumpaste can easily be molded to desired shapes to make jaw-dropping fondant cakes and toppers. Participants had the unique experience in molding and making their own cake toppers, sugar flowers and fondant cakes. Also presented were user of the Bakels Dairy Blend (an effective and cost efficient butter replacement with 15% dairy content) for buttercream icing and Diamond Glazes for refrigerated red velvet cakes (Bakels Red Velvet Mix) and cheesecakes (Pettina Cheesecake Mix), including doughnuts (Apito Soft Donut Mix).


Truly, this Cake Fiesta Manila lived up to its promise to showcase skills and talents of local and international cake decorators and enthusiasts.
